Starsweeper

I'm new to Paint Party Friday, so I hope I have the right idea. I can smell a fresh breeze today, and this little painting seems to fit for the spring cleaning I ought to be doing.

I posted this one's sister a while back. This one is also egg tempera and gold leaf, except on this one, I made the paint.

Runaway close-up

New One, finished

I think I'm going to call this one Runaway, in honor of the Bonnie Raitt cover of the 1961 Del Shannon tune, because listening to it helped me to figure out how to make the sheets pop away from the background.

I'm also entering this for this week's IF topic: fleeting.

For IF: Poise

We're digging waaay back here, folks, from my wonderful days at Idaho State in Scott Evans' printshop. Scott would be glad to know I'm back at it again with solarplate intaglio printing.

Etude

For IF: Intricate

This painting was a real stinker to complete, and I'm not sure I'm completely happy with it. Please feel free to chime in with suggestions!

Spring Cleaning

This is the companion piece for Starsweeper, the painting I posted last week. Ultramarine blue (in glass, it is cobalt) is my favorite color, and many of my pieces feature this wonderful hue. So this is for Paint Party Friday's question, do you have a favorite color? The answer is an enthusiastic yes!
Two years ago, both Starsweeper and Spring Cleaning were badly damaged while in the care of a neglectful gallery owner. They are tucked in a corner in my studio and I haven't had the heart to look at them since. This summer, though, I'm going to gather my courage and look at them to see if I can repair them. I'd love to have them back.
