Dream Wolf
PPF's question today is about the role of a muse in our work. I can't really name a muse, except I do have a very active dream life that is very often the source for my ideas. So, while I don't have a particular muse, I guess dreaming could be considered a "muse state for me". Happy PPF!

Amended Heart
Today's IF prompt is perennial. One thing about hearts is that they keep coming back for more, no matter what they've been through. While I was preparing for classes, this little illustration fluttered out of one of my books. The cracks in the heart make it more beautiful, don't you think? Here's to healing hearts. And their perennial nature.

The Invisible Woman Makes a Brief Appearance
It's been so long since I posted that I thought I should get something up here. I'm warming up for my drawing classes this fall with this one. It's likely to change, but at least there is proof I didn't get lost in NY, and sometimes, it's just nice to draw a face. I saw a ton of art this summer. One my favorite artists that I encountered was Aya Uekawa: www.ayauekawa.net . She is doing some interesting things with mixing Japanese flatness with western 3D. I think I'm going to try that out with this drawing by cropping out the background in Photoshop and collaging in a pattern. It might not work with charcoal, though. We'll see how it goes.
